PUT HAZARDOUS WASTE IN THE RIGHT PLACE!
Hazardous waste and E-waste items do not belong in any ACI of San Ramon collection container.
Hazardous items like pesticides, fertilizers, pool & photo chemicals, paint/varnish, toxic cleaning products, smoke detectors, mercury-containing items (thermometers, CFLs/fluorescent lights, etc.), unwanted medications, and sharps (needles, lancets, etc.) require special handling. PROPER DISPOSAL OF SHARPS
Sharps may be disposed of at the San Ramon Valley Fire District’s Administrative Office:

The drop box is located just outside the front door and is accessible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
PROPER DISPOSAL OF UNWANTED OR EXPIRED MEDICATIONS
Disposing of medications down the toilet, drain or in the garbage (residential or commercial) is harmful to the environment. You can dispose of your unwanted or expired prescription and non-prescription medications in the Pharmaceutical Disposal Bin located in the lobby of the San Ramon Police Department:

San Ramon, CA 94583
Monday – Friday: 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
Weekends – CLOSED
Pharmaceuticals are only accepted for disposal during business hours, please DO NOT leave medication outside the Police Department’s front door when the business office is closed.
Pills, as well as liquids, creams, and gels in the original container are accepted. Please, be sure the lids are on tight and they are sealed in a plastic bag. The San Ramon Police Department can provide you with a plastic bag, if needed.

Household Hazardous Waste Door-to-Door Collection Services are available for Multi-Family Complexes
Quickly and correctly, dispose of your Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) with door-to-door collection service at no additional cost to you!
Contact your property manager so they can make an appointment on your behalf.
The property manager will work with Clean Harbors staff to designate an area to collect your HHW. (Tenants cannot make appointments on their own.) After the appointment is made, you will receive a containment/collection kit.
The kit includes:
- An instruction sheet.
- Heavy gauge plastic containment/collection bag. Only the provided bag can be used-no other bags are accepted.
- Tie for bag.
- Labels for unmarked or unreadable containers.
